I have the CD version of BF 2 and have the 1.5 patch installed, and have updated punkbuster yesterday. When I am looking for servers and hit "Join Server" the game crashes to desktop. The game was running no trouble 2 months ago. Any help would be much appreciated. ThanksBattlefield 2 Multiplayer not working, please help?
It's possible your cd key has become corrupted. You can try right clicking on the BF2 shortcut, select properties and in the Target box change +fullscreen 1 to 0. Next time it crashes you should get an error message. Change fullscreen back to 1 when you have fixed it.
