Battlefield 2 keeps crashing when trying to join internet server?

everytime i try to join an internet server. between 0 and 200 ping bf2 crashes back to desktop

i am running windows xp and bf2 is version 1.5

Otherwise it could be a number of issues, try changing +fullscreen 1 to 0 in the shortcuts target line, that will run the game in debug mode and you should get an error message next time it crashes.
