ATI HD 5450 scores 2.2 on Windows index and 3650 scored 5.1?

Hi, can anyone explain this to me?

I just bought a ATI Radeon HD 5450 RAGE, was only 30拢 but it is suppose to be at least twice as good as my old one (HD3650) and even able to run battlefield 3 and Skyrim.

So why is it that when I run it through the Windows Experience Index it's scoring lower than the 3650 was (5.1 compared to the now 2.2)?

Even though there's videos on YouTube of people running these games on the 5450. When I test it at cyri (can you run it), I fail to meet the minimum requirements. Even world of Warcraft Isn't meeting the recommended reqs?

I'm updating the catalyst control centre to the latest edition right now but I cant see that having any effect..

So does anyone know why the computer/card isn't doing what it should be? What am I missing?ATI HD 5450 scores 2.2 on Windows index and 3650 scored 5.1?
No... it's NOT supposed to be "twice as good" as your old card.

The 5450 is newer, but lower-end. It's like comparing a 2010 Ford Focus to a 2007 Ford Taurus. Being newer doesn't make it more powerful.

For AMD Radeon (and GeForce cards) the first digit of the card model is just the series, or how recent the card is. The numbers which follow specify performance level, and 450 %26lt; 650. While performance generally improves a little each generation, it doesn't jump THAT much

The Radeon HD 3650 is slower than a 4650 or 5550. But it's not slower than a 5450, because that card is just a cheap replacement for integrated graphics. By the same token a Radeon HD 3870 is faster than the newer 4670 or 5570, but it's slower than the 4850.

Here's where the 5450 ranks:

Now you need 6 - 8GB of RAM and most likely more CPUATI HD 5450 scores 2.2 on Windows index and 3650 scored 5.1?
Where the hell did you hear that? The 5450 is low end crap. It's slower than the 3650. NEVER TRUST YOUTUBE VIDOES!!! You'd have to be bloody daft to do that! Look up actual benchmarks, not some boob on Youtube who could easily be full of crap. Canyourunit is also full of crap.

You're seriously looking in all the wrong places. You bought a cheapie video card thinking it would do more than it can. Oh, you can probably run those games...with everything turned down to minimums or darn near it. Do some proper research next time.

Um...George, all the RAM in the world and an i7 2700k won't make up for a crappy video card.

Yeah...you really do have no idea what you're doing. That's why you're stuck in denial with a bottom-end video card. The amount of VRAM IS NOT A MEASURE OF PERFORMANCE! I've seen this time and time again. It's ONE factor out of many. Often the speed of the GPU itself is a far more decisive factor, not to mention memory bus width, memory type, and more. If you're measuring video card performance by just one factor then you're doing it wrong. Look up a benchmark sometime.
